Two Podcast Recommendations

Majora Carter gives a lively and warm talk about working toward a just, empowered and sustainable South Bronx community
I just finished listening to a great episode of Social Innovation Conversations podcast with Majora Carter, the founding member and executive director of Sustainable South Bronx. The podcast is available through Social Innovation Conversations or you can subscribe and download it from iTunes (link opens iTunes). The podcast audio was made possible by Fora.tv where you can watch the video version. You can also watch it below.
Here’s a bit from the Social Innovation Conversations page about the Majora Carter talk:
Join Majora Carter as she speaks about sustainability and environmental justice at the annual Michael Kalil Lecture on Natural and Technological Systems in this best of Fora presentation. Tracing the development of the South Bronx Greenway, Carter discusses community involvement within a neglected area that generates jobs, strengthens people’s community spirit, and creates sustainable industries to meet the future ecological vision for New York City.
The second podcast comes from Rise Up Radio. My wife found Rise Up Radio when looking for radio and podcasts created or run by youth. Rise Up Radio is definitely that and is also geared toward social justice news and information. The combination is awesome and effective. You can subscribe to their blog feed, subscribe via ODEO or iTunes. Very good work.
