This is an excellent opportunity to get rid of your tires in Bowling Green. Tires are like batteries. You can’t do anything with them when they’re expired, you feel terrible throwing them away because it’s havoc on the environment, and many places charge you a fee for taking them off your hands. Taking advantage of this opportunity will speak volumes to the state about our desire for more opportunities to be earth friendly. Plus, tires are like mosquito condominiums and encourage easy growth of mosquito population. So, unless you farm copepod crustaceans, let’s be rid of the old tires.
Area residents can get rid of old tires for free today through Saturday under a state-funded tire amnesty program. Tires can be hauled to the Warren County Road Department’s storage barn at 5500 Louisville Road for free and legal disposal. The collection site will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today, Friday and Saturday. From BG Daily News, 4/24/08
