Green TagsSub Pop Records Green LogoJust got done reading a sweet little article on Jeff McIntire-Strasburg’s blog, Sustainablog about SubPop receiving Green-e Certification recently. Read the article here. But here I’ll give you the gist of it: Sub Pop is now purchasing renewable energy credits from Bonneville Environmental Foundation to offset 100% of it’s own energy use. That means for all the energy it takes to create the packaging and more that goes into putting out Sub Pop’s music they’ve purchaced credits (green tags) that go toward the production of energy through alternative and sustainable methods (wind, sun, etc.) For a far better explanation of what green tags are, visit the BEF website.
