Many of you are already up to speed on this issue. In fact it is probably a little worn out. But it finally crossed my plate today for the first time and I had to say something about it. I pledge, ahem, er, promise not to go on too long about it. Today a coworker told me something that had the stink of being a bona fide, grade A, horse manure, Fox-favorite falsity. It is the rumor that Barack Obama does not believe in the Pledge of Allegiance and refuses to recite it.

Even though I had no evidence to go against it, I could hardly believe that if it were in fact true, he’d have made it this far. His refusal to recite the Pledge, if it were a true fact, would not still in the list of work place rumors as it is now. It would have been what kept him from ever getting this far. He’d have never made it to the primaries.

That’s easy enough to say, of course. And I promise to try to keep from making statements that I could not back-up with out cosmic assistance. Who actually knows what would have or would not have happened?

The only thing I am able to really do, for democracy’s sake, is republish the truth as it has been told from not only the horse’s mouth, but as has been video taped and visible, seen so that it can be believed, verified, witnessed, inspected, detected, infected and all sorts of mean nasty ugly things on YouTube.

So here it is, plain as day, Obama leading the U.S. Senate in the Pledge of Allegiance for your smear-crushing pleasure.
