Mary Frances BerryEvery so often I come across a person who has significantly contributed to civil rights causes, but who many others have never heard of, including me. Immediately I have the overwhelming urge to spend the following 24 hours learning about the person so that I can write what I know will be the most amazing post ever on the BSB Blog. However, if you’ve ever read my other blog, you’re probably aware that I don’t always have the attention span to carry out such a feat.

So, instead I’ll pass on a few links about Mary Frances Berry for your enjoyment. Mary Frances Berry is a writer, the Geraldine R. Segal Professor of American Social Thought and Professor of History at the University of Pennsylvania, and has had a long career in public service. She was a member of the U.S. Commission on Human Rights from 1980 to 2004 and served as Chair for the last 11 of those years. That is a very small glimpse at her life. Take a look at the rest.
