Plan to call in to work sick because you’re going to need the time to get around town this Earth Day in Bowling Green. Music, discounts, greening tips and plenty of other stuff should keep you busy all day. You can get a hearty helping of that information here.
I can try to describe what you’ll find there but CJ Johansen of the Downtown Redevelopment Authority gives a much more comprehensive list of goodies in a recent email:
The market will feature Kentucky-grown agricultural, horticultural, and artisan-made products. In April, shoppers can expect to find fresh asparagus, lettuce, mesclun, kale, swiss chard, radishes, kohlrabi, free-range eggs, milk, green onions, basil, parsley, baked goods, gourmet dog treats, bedding plants, perennials, herbs, hanging baskets, patio planters, ornamental grass, artisan-made candles and soaps, and vegetable transplants.
All products are “Kentucky Proud,” and are grown or made in Kentucky by the merchant selling the products at market. This guarantees the freshest and highest quality food for the public, and gives area farmers an attractive market for direct retail of their products.
Area farmers, horticulturists and artisans are invited to join the SKY Farmers Market to showcase their Kentucky food and goods at The Market.
